On Line Claims System
The claims process can be summarized as follows:
- Unitholders begin the Claims Registration process online via this web site.
- Unit holders in receipt of their Notice of Reassessment complete the Claim Form online via this web site.
- This process completing various documents and releases.
- On completion, each Unitholder will print out a Claim File consisting of the completed Claim, instructions for submitting the Claim Package to the Payment Agent, and a bar-coded Fax Cover Sheet for submission of the Claim Package to the Payment Agent. A copy of the Notice of Reassessment and a copy of the T1 Adjustment Request submitted to Revenue Canada must be included in the Claim Package. It is imperative that ALL pages of the Notice of Reassessment be submitted with your Claim.
- Once a Claim Package has been received from a Unitholder, the Payment Agent and Terrawinds will review the Claim. The status of the review will be available to the Unitholder online. The Unitholder should allow approximately 4 weeks for the review to be completed. We are currently running behind the stated 4 weeks for processing a claim due to the large volume of claims being received. Claims are being processed in the order in which they are received and all involved are working to process the claims as quickly as possible. Please accept our apologies for the delay and our thanks for your patience.
If
you are a Unitholder, click here to access the secure online claims system, and begin the process of filing a Claim.
Please note that a Notice of Reassessment is required for completion of the claims process. If you have not yet received your Notice, only Part I of the Claim Form can be completed. It is important to complete Part I of the Claim Form immediately so that you may receive monthly information electronically from both the Payment Agent and Terrawinds.
Residents of Quebec may complete their Claim upon receipt of the Notice of Reassessment from either the Canada Revenue Agency or Revenue Quebec, and receive payment for that portion of his/her Claim.
At this time, we do not know when the Notice of Reassessment will be issued to Unitholders. However, Unitholders who wish to contact the taxing authorities directly may do so at:
